Cheese danish with strawberries (thanks Gin), velvet cake, and my usual--Hawaiian Wedding CUPcakes.
MY GOD, I need to stop writing about food. But I promised my mom I'd show her how my desserts turned out for the other Chamorro get-together this weekend.
This is the most I will bake this year.
The Chamorros I have met here in Texas are super-nice. When I'm with them, I notice my intonations change, we find connections to each other in some way or another, the food we eat is scrumptious, the children get along, and there is laughter all around.
Ai, ya, yai, these Chamorro parties. You arrive hungry, laugh heartily, eat satisfyingly, and leave happy.

I'm glad you found people from home.. that way you won't feel so alone in big bad Texas! BTW, where in Texas are you?
I would love to taste your Hawaiian Wedding Cake or CUPcakes!
People from Guam have this special way of making you feel at home.
